Clean Lifetime Air Filters

Hits: 2

Lifetime air filters are air filters for furnaces or air conditioners that can be cleaned instead of replaced. They are more expensive than the replaceable air filters, but they will last for a long time if properly cared for. Proper care includes cleaning the air filters when they are dirty. Dirty air filters make your furnace or air conditioner less efficient, so cleaning them is beneficial to your wallet as well.
Instructions
1
Remove the lifetime air filter from your furnace or air conditioner.

2
Place the nozzle on the hose and rinse off any surface dust and debris from the lifetime air filter from both sides for three to five minutes.

3
Place 1 tsp. dish soap and 2 cups of warm water into a spray bottle and shake well. Spray the mixture on the air filter. Allow it to sit for two to three minutes.

4
Rinse off the lifetime air filter with the hose. Spray the water through the air filter on both sides to remove all the dust and soap.

5
Stand the air filter upright to dry for 15 to 20 minutes. Place the filter back into your AC unit or furnace.
