Directions for a Metal Stacking Shelf
Metal stacking shelves are versatile pieces of furniture that may be useful in your laundry room, garage or pantry. Putting a metal stacking shelf together is a quick project any homeowner can accomplish. Many of these shelves simply snap together. If your shelf is made of a heavier and sturdier metal, build it in the room in which it will be placed. Lighter shelves can easily be transported from one location to another.
Instructions
1
Hold the metal shelves upright, approximately a shelf-length distance apart. If possible, ask a friend or family member to help you hold one of the sides. Otherwise, lean it against a wall or workbench while you support the other side.
2
Position the bottom shelf between the two posts. Put the shelf's knobs into the posts' bottom keyhole openings. Push the shelf down to snap it into place. Place a level on the shelf. Use a rubber mallet to hit the shelf's high end further down, if necessary.
3
Line up the top shelf's knobs with the keyholes on the posts' top edges. Push the shelf into place, hold a level on it and hit it the higher end with a rubber mallet, if necessary.
4
Install the middle shelves the same way you installed the bottom and top shelf.
5
Lay the provided particle board over each shelf. Push one supplied pin through each of the pre-drilled holes in the particle board. Use a hammer to tap the pins into place so as to hold the particle board to the shelf.
