How to Build a Wall Magazine Rack
Magazines provide a wide array of information in a pleasing format. Often you will find magazines that you want to keep for a long time, but they don’t stand nicely on a bookshelf with your other reading material. You can build a magazine rack out of a simple wire hanger to accommodate all of your magazines and keep them neat. Install as many as you want on your wall.
Instructions
1
Place a thick wire hanger in front of you on a table with the hook pointing to the left.
2
Pull the lower wire of the hanger down until it is stretched out vertically. The wires should now be vertically parallel.
3
Bend the upper part of the left wire up to form a 90-degree corner. The wire coming out of the hook should be horizontal, and the wire at the bend should be vertical.
4
Pull the right side wire into a bend the same way so there are two horizontal arms below the hook.
5
Make two bends in the lower part of the wires to form two more corners. The wire of the hanger should now be in a tall rectangle shape with a hook sticking out from the top.
6
Fold the lower part of the hanger up so it is at a 90-degree angle with the table. This bend should be made 2 inches lower than the center of the wires.
7
Fold the upper part of the hanger—the part with the hook—up to the same angle as the lower part. This fold should be made about 4 inches from the other bend.
8
Turn the hanger to the side so that the hook is on your right side. The wires should now look like a squared U shape.
9
Hammer a nail into the wall where you want to hang the rack. Leave the nail sticking out of the wall enough that you can fit the hook of the rack around it.
