How to Remove a Bathroom Metal Wire

Metal wire, or chicken wire, can be used behind tile in your bathroom. The wire helps to secure wall or floor tile during installation. If you're remodeling your bathroom, or fixing a plumbing issue, you may notice the wire once you remove the tile from the area. Removing the metal wire is not a time consuming task but it can be tedious depending on the size of the area.

Instructions
1 Wear safety goggles and gloves. Line a chisel up at the area where the metal wiring is exposed in your floor or wall.

2 Tap the chisel with a hammer to loosen any concrete that's holding the metal wire in place.

3 Chip away at the surrounding concrete until the metal wire is fully exposed, or until the area that you wish to remove the wire from is exposed.

4 Pull up on the wire to free it from the concrete. If the wire can pull away completely from the concrete, then you can pull it off to remove it.

5 Cut away the metal wire with metal cutting shears, then pull it away from the area.
