How to Use and Clean Tea Strainer?
Brewing tea with loose tea leaves requires a tea strainer to hold the tea leaves while pouring hot water into the cup. Knowing how to use & clean tea strainer is extremely essential, if you want to enjoy brewing and drinking pure tea. A clogged tea strainer will not allow tea concoction to pass through the tea strainer and the tea overflows out of the strainer. A discolored tea strainer is unsightly in brewing a healthy tea.
How to use a tea strainer?
Fill your kettle with fresh water for brewing tea. If you are using tap water, allow some water to flow out for few seconds and then fill the kettle. Water stored in tap is not suitable for brewing it.
Heat the water in the kettle by placing it on a stove.
Rinse tea cups with some hot water to preheat.
Place the strainer on top of the empty cup.
Add few tea leaves in the tea strainers and pour hot water from the kettle.
Pour water into the cup to the required height and remove the tea strainer out of the cup.
How to clean a tea strainer?
An all metal tea strainer get stained easily hence cleaning it occasionally with a bleaching agent is required to keep them neat.
Make a mixture of bleaching agent in water and soak the tea strainer for about 20 minutes. Use a brush to scrape clogged holes in the tea strainer.
Wash the tea strainer thoroughly because any bleach left in the tea strainer will affect the taste of your tea.
