Set the pre-hung security door and frame in place, centering it over the existing door on the outside. You may need to remove existing trim around the door and install the door against the siding. The frame must be flat against the house for sturdy attachment.

Using the pre-drilled holes in the security door frame as guides, mark the locations of drill holes, then set the door aside.

Drill straight and level through the exterior and interior walls. Have your helper hold a level against the wall to help you guide the bit in straight.

Put the security door in place and set the screws, running them all the way through to the inside. Secure with a washer and a nut on the inside.

On the inside, use a trim around the door frame to cover the bolts and create a professional, finished appearance.
