Make a cup rack
No matter its size, saving or stretching space in a kitchen is always on your mind. A clear counter and organized cupboards help make your kitchen look immediately larger. There are ways to make space in the cabinets or clear counters without resorting to a kitchen renovation. Make a simple cup rack that takes cups out of the cabinet and up off the counter with just a few supplies from the hardware store.
Instructions
1
Sand all the edges of your 20-inch 1-by-6 board to make them smooth. Wipe all the dust away with a clean cloth.
2
Take the board outdoors and place on newspaper. Spray paint the board the color you wish to match your kitchen wall. Let it dry.
3
Screw the metal cup hooks into the board in a zigzag pattern. Start on the left, 2 inches from the edge 3 inches from the bottom. Attach another hook to the right 3 inches and 1 inch from the top. Go over 3 more inches and 3 inches from the bottom and place a hook. Continue in this fashion until hooks are all across the board.
4
Use the electric screwdriver and 2-inch screw the board into the wall above the coffee pot. Put the first screw in the board center 4 inches from the left and one 4 inches from the right. Touch up the screw tops with some paint on your finger.
