The way to build a gabion wall
Gabion wall has the subtle variation in stone color, the texture of different rock fillings and the light and shade of stone and crevice, so the gabion wall is more and more popular in the modern life. There are some steps to follow when you install gabion walls:
1. We should level the ground first
we usually level the pad area on the front boundary by using a hole. The ‘soil’ here, is close to the consistency of concrete, so we were able to put our gabion wall on there. you will need to replace about 150mm depth with a compacted gravel or road base layer for a stronger support, if you have slippery clay soil, and then we can make sure the pad was level in both directions by using a level on a long straight-edge.
2. Then we need wipe off the grass
Sometimes the gabion mesh sits along the front boundary, so there will be some couch grass around the wall. In order to make sure the couch grass wouldn't get up into the wall, we need to keep out the grass.
3. Third, we should assemble the gabion cages
When we assemble the gabion cages, we should start by laying the mesh sheets out flat with the base surrounded by the four sides. It’s easy to do as the spiral exactly matches the mesh grid, our cages are held together with a spiral of gal steel that you wind through the adjacent edges of the mesh panels.
