How to Replace Wire Refrigerator Shelves
Refrigerators usually have glass or wire shelves for food organization. The wire shelves can become rusty or moldy, requiring replacement. Replacing wire Refrigerator Shelves is a straightforward process. Wire shelves simply slide in and out of the refrigerator much like the cooking racks inside your oven. Replacement wires Refrigerator Shelves are available at home improvement centers and appliance repair shops. Measure the width and length of the shelves to purchase the correct size for your refrigerator.

Open the refrigerator door removes the contents from the Refrigerator Shelves you are replacing.

Pull the shelf 4 inches out of the front of the refrigerator. Lift up slightly on the front of the Refrigerator Shelves, and pull the shelf completely out of the refrigerator.

Clean the shelf rail or grooves on each side of the refrigerator with a clean cloth.

Locate the front of the new wire Refrigerator Shelves. The front usually has a decorative trim to distinguish it from the back of the shelf. Insert the back of the shelf into the rails or slots on the inside of the refrigerator, at the same angle you used to pull the old shelf out.

Slide the shelf all the way into the refrigerator until the back of the Refrigerator Shelves are flush with the back of the shelf groove or rail.

Repeat the process with the other shelves, if needed.
