Measuring the Width and Depth of the Wire Wall Basket
Measure the width, and depth of your wire wall basket. Wire wall baskets can be used for interior household decoration and storage; and for outdoor hanging garden or flower decor. Inside wire baskets can hold toiletries, artificial flower arrangements or any number of lightweight objects. Outdoor wire wall baskets can be hung from walls to hold plants. To measure the size of your wire wall basket, you will need to measure the width, and depth with a tape measure.

Measuring the Width of the Wire Wall Basket

Place the tape measure, horizontally, on top of a table.

Place the wire wall basket on top of the tape measure, aligning the end of the tape measure with the left side of the wire wall basket. Hold the end of the tape measure, while pulling the side of the tape measure emerging from under the right side of the basket until the tape measure is straight.

Look at the measurement/inch number directly under the widest point of the right side of the wire wall basket. This is the width measurement. Write the width measurement onto a piece of paper with a pencil.
Measuring the Depth of the Wire Wall Basket

Place the basket onto a table. Hold the end of the tape measure to the table, lifting the tape measure up toward you.

Move the tape measure to the section of the wall basket that protrudes the farthest towards you, from the flat surface. Align the tape measure with this outer edge of the basket.

Write down the depth measurement of the basket. The depth, in the case of the basket, is the measurement from the front to the basket back.
